About Me
If I were asked to characterize myself in few words, I would say I am the ultimate Eternal Traveler. I have no defined nationality or ethnic origin, and probably for this reason I always feel comfortable in any area of the world. After many years of continuous traveling, I can’t think of a geographical area I visited but didn’t feel any connection to.
Traveling is my favorite hobby and the source of my inspiration. Since my regular job is quite boring, my journeys are the best and most exciting part of my life. During the last several years, I didn’t stay at one place for more than 4 months. Fortunately, my spouse, my daughter and my sister are sworn travelers just like me, so I always have some company.
As a traveler, I believe in and obey three basic rules:
1. To respect other cultures, be open minded and not judge other’s values and customs from ethnocentric point of view. Different cultures are not “weird”, “funny” or “lagging”. They’re just unusual for me, and the more I learn about them, the richer person I become.
2. To enjoy every single moment of my travel. I must be a lucky person, since I have this unique opportunity to explore other cultures and travel around the world. Therefore, I will never let the taxi driver who charged me more then the standard fee; the last bus that had left a minute after I arrived; the nervous waiter etc. to get the best of me or ruin my trip.
3. To harmonize pleasure and education. I never go back home without gathering significant knowledge of the host country’s culture and history; on the other hand, I “explore” not just museums and historical sites, but local pubs and restaurants as well.
This website is dedicated to my last trip to Koh Phangan – an island in the Southern Thailand. I spend in Koh Phangan three unforgettable weeks in May 2006, and I’m sure I’ll be back very soon. For a while, I wish to share with you my experiences in this island and to deliver all the information you need to explore it thoroughly and frugally.
